XI SMALL FORMAT PAINTING BIENNIAL

Organized by: Moita City Council, Alhos Vedros Parish Council, and CACAV – Cultural Animation Circle of Alhos Vedros. The Small Format Painting Biennial is a joint organization of the Municipality of Moita, the Alhos Vedros Parish Council, and CACAV – Cultural Animation Circle of Alhos Vedros. 

Its purpose is to encourage artistic creation in the field of painting and to honor and promote local identity and history, highlighting the figure of Joaquim Afonso Madeira, who had ties to the Alhos Vedros area in 1952 and was a recognized artist known for his work as an author, essayist, stage director, set designer, and costume designer. 

 The Small Format Painting Biennial – Joaquim Afonso Madeira Award is an expression of creative freedom, a project of participation and sharing, and a possibility for transformation. The 11th Small Format Painting Biennial aims to encourage artistic creation in the field of painting by supporting artists, valuing their work, and fostering their connection with the community. 

Barbara Cabral was one of the artists selected for the Honorable Mention prize with her work "April Flowers".
