GAB-A is a forum for discussion and exhibition of young artists, artistic research outcomes, and works developed within the context of public higher education in the arts, integrated into the physical spaces where they are conceived and produced. It is not a conventional exhibition in a gallery, museum, or cultural center. It is the opening of the artistic work and research spaces of the Faculty of Fine Arts, in the spirit of a workshop, studio, or atelier.

GAB-A is an event for sharing with external audiences, depending on the will of its participants, their motivations, and on the opportunities and invitations that arise after each edition. It is an informal space, with the presence of the young authors themselves — a forum or fair where pragmatic issues are explored, such as connecting with the outside world, forming groups and projects, or defining strategies for future actions. It is a moment of exchange of experiences and application of knowledge.

In this edition, there will be a separation between a sales pop-up and the exhibition and studio area, with the intention of highlighting each aspect in order to better support both. The sales area will offer students the opportunity to sell their own merchandise, such as stickers, earrings, and utilitarian ceramics, among others. In the exhibition area, students will present their artworks and artistic projects developed throughout the semesters, and may also sell these works.

At GAB-A, there is no selection of works or participants by any entity other than the authors themselves. This allows each student to test their capacity for decision-making, self-criticism, and autonomy. All students who wish to participate are invited to do so — all those who possess the confidence and determination required in any profession.

The event provides the experience of a contemporary art forum within its embryonic core (the place of learning and research), fostering reflection on different worlds, on art itself, and on the art world.
