Barbara Cabral is a painter working primarily within the genre of figurative art. Her work explores the human figure, often placing characters in quiet settings with a subtle sense of surrealism. These are lonely moments, suspended between the real and the imagined.

Born in Brazil and currently based in Lisbon, she has developed a visual language that merges observation with introspection. Her work draws from life while allowing space for imaginative elements to emerge.

Barbara’s artistic approach is deeply influenced by the refined lines and compositional balance found in Japanese aesthetics, as well as by the mastery and technical precision of the Old Masters. By combining these influences, she creates paintings marked by a strong linear presence and a brooding nature that invites the viewer to pause and reflect.
