GAB-A is a forum for discussion and exhibition of young artists, artistic research outputs, and works developed within the context of public higher education in the arts, integrated into the physical spaces where they are conceived and produced.

It is not a typical exhibition in a gallery, museum, or cultural center. It is the opening of the working and research spaces of the Faculty of Fine Arts — in the spirit of a workshop, studio, or atelier.

GAB-A is an event of sharing with external audiences that depends on the will of its participants, their interests, motivations, and on the opportunities and invitations that arise after each edition.

It is an informal space, with the presence of the young authors themselves. A forum or fair where pragmatic issues are tested — such as establishing contact with the outside world, forming groups and projects, or defining strategies for future actions. It is a moment of exchange of experiences and application of knowledge.

At GAB-A, there is no selection of works or participants by any entity other than the authors themselves. Each student is given the opportunity to test their capacity for decision-making, self-criticism, and autonomy. All students who wish to participate are invited to do so — all those who possess the confidence and determination required in any profession.

The event provides the experience of a contemporary art forum within its embryonic core (the place of learning and research), encouraging reflection on different worlds, on art itself, and on the art world.

At GAB-A, bridges are built between all levels of education. Students who have attended the Faculty for six months participate alongside those who have been there for many years (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students).
